Bathurst - Mrs. Teresa Assaff, formerly of Varrily St., Bathurst and wife of the late John Assaff, passed away Monday, March 18, 2019 at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst at the age of 83.
Born in Bathurst, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Zita (Comeau) White.
She is survived by one son, Dr. David (Anne) Assaff of Miramichi.
One sister, Patsy White (late Cleo) of New Richmond, QC.
Three brothers: Arnold White and Edwin White (late Betty) both of Bathurst and George White (Margaret) of Moncton.
Two sisters-in-law: Georgette Assaff and Cecilia Assaff.
Three brothers-in-law: Donald Assaff (Muriel), George Assaff (Suzanne) and Paul Assaff.
Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Teresa was an avid and competitive curler as a member of the Bathurst Curling Club. She was also a member of the Holy Family Catholic Women’s League and member of the NB Right to Life Association.
Besides her husband, she was pre-deceased by a sister, Winnie White (late Urban).
The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday March 21st from 7 to 9 p.m. at Elhatton’s Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. Funeral service will be celebrated on Friday afternoon March 22, 2019 at 2 p.m. from Elhatton’s Funeral Home Chapel, St. George St., Bathurst. Donations in memory of Teresa can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
