It is with great sadness the family of Ann Smith, wife of Clayton Smith announces her passing on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 which occurred at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst at the age of 70.

Born in Pokeshaw, she was the daughter of the late Cletus and Hazel (Whelton) Salter.

Besides her husband Clayton she is survived by her three sons: Bradley (Karen) of Saint John, Shane (Shawna) and Duane (Glenna) both of Salmon Beach.

Her grandchildren: Alexander, Emma, Jessica, Sydney, Sheldon, Bailey and Riley.

Three sisters: Penny Morrison of Bathurst, Patty Salter of Janeville and Rita Salter of Pokeshaw.

Two brothers-in-law: Nelson Smith of Miramichi and Wayne Smith of Salmon Beach.

A sister-in-law: Ida Dean of Port Hope, ON.

She was predeceased by sisters, Janet Salter, Pauline Dunbar and Julie Salter.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2024, from 2 – 4 and 7 -9 p.m. at Elhatton Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. A funeral service will be held Friday afternoon, May 10, 2024, at 2 p.m. from Elhatton Funeral Chapel. Donations in memory of Ann may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or a charity of the donor’s choice.
