Surrounded by his family and friends, Arthur P. Vienneau, of Ste-Anne passed away on Monday (January 26, 2004) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, at the age of 82, after a lengthy illness.
Born in Chatham, he was the son of the late Prudent and Helene (Robichaud) Vienneau.
He worked for the Gowan Brae Golf and Country Club for 34 years taking retirement in 1995 at the age of 74. He loved fishing and spending time at his camp for family gatherings. Arthur was active in the Ste Anne Community Center where he enjoyed dancing every weekend until he became ill.
He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
He was pre-deceased by his wife, the former Thérèse Doucet in 1961.
Arthur will be sadly missed by Elizabeth Roy, his loving companion of 18 years. He was the loving father of:
Anna Grant (Christopher),
Arthur Vienneau (Annette),
Gilbert Vienneau (Murielle) and
Rita Willett (Gary), all of Bathurst
Carmella Vienneau (Mike Roll) and
Diane Vienneau (Yvon Beaulieu) both of Montreal, Que.
11 Grandchildren; Kathy, Eileen, Stephen, Jason, Tracy, Michelle, Stephen, Roland, Alain, Rachel and André.
16 Great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

The body is resting at Elhatton's Funeral Home, Bathurst. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday afternoon (January 29, 2004) at 2:00 p.m. from Holy Family Church, St. Peter Ave., Bathurst. Burial will be in the parish cemetery in the spring. For anyone wishing to send tokens of sympathy, the family would appreciate donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Palliative Care Unit of the Chaleur Regional Hospital. Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton's Funeral Home, Bathurst.
