Mark Ian Daley, 25, died suddenly on April 20, 2008 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He was born in Bathurst. He was the son of Ralph and Gayle (Harvey) Daley. Mark graduated from BHS and attended UNB and CompuCollege. He was an avid reader especially of history, political science and science fiction. He had a great passion for the history of war from a very young age and was very proud of his grandfathers who both served in WWII. Mark was an avid hockey player and loved the Toronto Maple Leafs. Pass times included watching football, wrestling, movies, music, playing video games and he cherished his time at the family cottage in Salmon Beach.
He was a member of the First United Church, Bathurst NB
Besides his parents of Halifax, he is survived by his sister Cheryl, Halifax, NS and special friend Joyous (Zhao) Jiang, Halifax, NS. Grandparents Fenton and Clara Daley, Bathurst, NB and Charles Harvey, Middleton, NS. Aunts and uncles Lee-Ann Baird (Hal) New Minas, NS, Dan Harvey (Joan) Ottawa, Ont., Penney Stevens (Robert) Toronto, Ont., Beverly Daley Boisetown, NB, Stewart Daley (Cathy) Cheltenham, Ont. Cousins Haley, Evan, Christopher, Sarah Jane, Jeff, Kelly, Sean and Michelle. He was pre-deceased by his Grandmother Rosa May Harvey, and cousin Christopher Thompson.
Visitation will be held at Elhatton’s Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst on Thursday April 24 from 2-4 pm and 7-9pm. Funeral service will be held at First United Church, Bathurst NB on Friday April 25, 2008 at 11am. Internment will take place at a later date.
