Bathurst - Leonard Roy, 94, of the Foyer Notre Dames de Lourdes and formerly of East Bathurst, died Tuesday (24 February, 2004) at the Foyer Notre Dames de Lourdes after a lengthy illness.
Born in Tide Head, he was the son of the late Andrew and Rose Anna (Pitre) Roy.
He worked at the former Consolidated Bathurst Paper Mill and was a member of the Company's Quarter Century Club.
He was pre-deceased by his wife, the former Delima Godin in 2000.
He is survived by

She was pre-deceased by a son, Raymond; brothers, Joseph, George; sisters, Nellie, Jean, Eva and Iva.
The body rested at Elhatton's Funeral Home, Bathurst. Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday 2:00 p.m. from Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Rough Waters Dr., with Father Bill Arseneault officiating. Readings were done by daughter Jackie. Burial will be in the parish cemetery in the spring.
Pall Bearers were Cameron Melanson, Delphis Lavigne, Norbert Roy, Gerry Roy, Paul Roy and James Melanson. Relatives and friends attending from out-of-town were from: Granddaughters, Jo-Ann & Jocelyn from Halifax, Carol & husband Charles of Moncton, Jo-Anne Davidson of Miramichi, great-granddaughter Courtney of Miramichi, grandson, James and wife Terri-Ann Melanson of Fredericton.
