Bathurst - Alphonse Chiasson, 87, of the Foyer Notre Dame de Lourdes and formerly of Bathurst, which occurred on Saturday (July 18, 2009) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst.
Born in Caraquet, he was the son of the late Guillaume and Louise (Doiron) Chiasson.
He served in World War II with the Royal Canadian Army in Canada and overseas and was a former member of the Herman J. Good, V.C. Br. 18, Royal Canadian Legion, Bathurst. He worked at the former Consolidated Bathurst Paper Mill for most of his life.
He was last surviving member of his immediate family.
Several nieces and nephews.
There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be celebrated on Tuesday afternoon (July 21, 2009) at 2 p.m. from Elhatton’s Funeral Home Chapel with Father Wesley Wade officiating.
