Sadly, we announce the death of our dear Mother Mary Reta Burns(late Ralph), who died December 23,2009. Mary was born in Bathurst on May 14, 1919, the eldest child of the late Judge Joseph and Annie(Ramsey) Ryan. Mary was educated in Bathurst and graduated from Sacred Heart Academy. She was a lifetime member of the CWL. Mary was a loving and caring presence in the lives of her family. Left to mourn are her children: Barbara Burns(late Charlie), Ralph, and Sheila Burns Hachey(Paul). Nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Also by brothers: Dr. Joseph Ryan (Eulalia) and John Ryan. Sister in law: Jessica Ryan(late Pat) and daughter in law: Sue Burns(late Toby). Many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by husband; Ralph, son; Toby, brother; Pat, sister; Sheila Harper and son in law; Charles Gillis. The family wishes to thank Norma and Lil who took such good care of Mom for the last six years. We are greatful for your commitment. Cremation has taken place. Mass to celebrate Mary's life will be held 11am Tuesday, Dec 29 at Sacred Heart Cathedral, reception to follow.
