Canobie, NB - Ivan Ellis, 80, of Canobie, passed away at his residence on Tuesday (January 12, 2010). Born in Salmon Beach, he was the son of the late James and late Lucy (Good) Ellis. He worked as a Fisherman for most of his life. Besides his wife, Alda (Knowles) Ellis, he is survived by: One son: Tracy Ellis (Lee Ann) of Canobie Six daughters: Mitzi Whelton (Roland) and Louise Whalen (Craig) both of Canobie Irma Downing (Donald) of St. Léolin Lorna Murty (Giles) of Salmon Beach Bella Brown (Ken) of Surrey, BC Jodi Sullivan (Darrin) of Stittsville, ON One brother: Lawrence (Irene) of Mississauga, ON One sister: Emily Good (late Thomas) of Rough Waters 20 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by 2 sons: Brian (1994) and Bert (1996). The body will rest after 7 p.m. Wednesday at Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. Funeral Service will be held on Friday (January 15, 2010) at 2 p.m. from Saint George’s Anglican Church, King Ave, Bathurst. Visiting hours are Wednesday from 7 to 9 and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Donations in memory of Ivan may be made to the Anglican Church Parish of New Bandon or a favorite charity.
