Big River - The family announces with great sadness, the death of John Butler, 72, of Big River, passed away at his residence on Monday (February 8, 2010).
Born in Tide Head, he was the son of the late Alonzo Butler and the late Stella Mann.
He was employed by J.S. RedPath and Cementation (formerly Aurora) until his retirement.
Besides his loving wife, Rosemary (Studor) Butler, he is survived by:
Five children:
James of Edmonton, AB
John Jr. (Pierrette),
Joey (Kim),
Mark (Pauline) and
Shauna Butler (Gerard Cyr), all of Bathurst
One brother:
Grant (Petra) of Ottawa, ON
Grandfather "Poppy" of Amy, Jessica, Leighanne, Danika, Emily, Kelsey, Josh, Venessa and Kate.
Besides his parents, he was pre-deceased by a brother; Alonzo Jr.
There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held on Friday afternoon (February 12, 2010) at 2 p.m. from Elhatton's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Roderick Black officiating. Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. Donations in memory of John may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a favorite charity.
