Bathurst … Mrs. Gertrude Jamieson, 94, wife of the late Kenneth Preston Jamieson, formerly of Rough Waters Dr., Bathurst, passed away on Sunday (February 21, 2010) at the Foyer Notre Dame de Lourdes, Bathurst. Born in Charlo, she was the daughter of the late William A. and Lena (Miller) Hamilton. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Herman J. Good, VC Br 18 Royal Canadian Legion, the NB Retired Teachers Association and was a member of the First United Church, Bathurst. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She will be sadly missed by: Three children: Wesley of Davidson, Australia Ralph of Bathurst Beverley Jamieson of Toronto, ON Three grandchildren, Kelsey, Joel & Spencer of Australia Several nieces and nephews. Gertrude was a former school teacher at the former Bass River and Mary Gosnell School for many years. She was a member of the First United Church, Bathurst and the Retired Teachers Association. The body will rest after 2 p.m. Thursday at Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. Funeral Service will be held on Friday afternoon (February 26, 2010) at 2:00 p.m. from the First United Church, St. Patrick St. Burial will be in the Highland View Cemetery, Bridge St. in the spring. As an expression of sympathy, the family would appreciate donations to a charity of the donors choice. Visiting hours are Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.
