Bathurst - It is with great sadness that the family of Roman "Roe" White, of King Ave., Bathurst, announces his death which occurred Saturday (February 20, 2010) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, at the age of 89.
Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Terrence and Eva (Lavigne) White.
He worked for the former Stone Consolidated, formerly known as Bathurst Power and Paper Company.
He was a lifetime member of Saint Theresa parish.
He is survived by his wife, Agnes (Lavigne) of 70 years of marriage.
His children:
Anne Roy (Arthur),
Allan (Irene),
Stephen (Jeannine) and
Denis (Audrey), all of Bathurst
Adeline Thibideau (George) of Courtice, ON
His sisters:
Celia Glendenning (late Harry) and
Rose Marie Losier (late Laurent) both of Bathurst
13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
He was pre-deceased by sisters; Marjorie, Doris, infant Adeline, brothers; Cletus, Cleo and Terrence.
Visitation will start after 2 p.m. Tuesday at Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday afternoon (February 24, 2010) at 2 p.m. from the Sacred Heart Cathedral, St. Andrew St., Bathurst. Visiting hours are Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 and Wednesday from noon until time of Funeral. Donations in memory of Roe may be made to a charity of the donors choice.
