James “Jim” Woodman – 76, of Rockland Drive, Bathurst, passed away on Wednesday, August 4, 2010, at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst. Born in Bonaventure, QC he was the son of the late George Henry “Harry” and Effie (Kerr) Woodman.
Jim was educated in New Carlisle, QC and he worked for 33 years for Canada Packers Inc. in Gaspe, QC, Newcastle and Bathurst, NB. He was a member of the Mason Century Lodge #100, Gaspe, Quebec and Maple Leaf Foods Quarter Century Club. He was the last surviving member of his family.
He is survived by his third wife, Adèle Fournier Woodman.
Many brothers and sisters in law of both families and several cousins.
He was predeceased by:
First wife, Velma (Syvret) of Malbay, Quebec;
Second wife, Ruth (Imhoff) of New Carlisle, Quebec;
A brother Ronald;
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 9, 2010 from 7-9 pm at Elhatton Funeral Home, 187 St. George St., Bathurst (www.elhatton.com) and on Tuesday, from noon until time of funeral. Funeral service will be held at 2 pm Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at St. George’s Anglican Church, King Ave, Bathurst. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery, Cullens Brook (Bonaventure) Quebec. Donations in memory of James may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
