Bathurst - Irving Gray, 93, of Union St., Bathurst, passed away on Sunday (August 29, 2010) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst. Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late William and Stella (Thibodeau) Gray.
He served in World War II with the Royal Canadian Forces in Canada and was a member of the Herman J. Good, V.C. Br. 18, Royal Canadian Legion, Bathurst. He was a former employee of Consolidated Bathurst, Brunswick Mines and Brunswick Mills.
Besides his wife, Yvonne (Doucet) Gray, he is survived by:
One son; John (Josée Gouin) of Moncton. Four daughters; Sadie Mazerolle (Omer) of Bathurst, Jeanne Taylor (late Maxwell) of Bathurst, Regina Venerus (Chessery) of London, ON, Leona White of Bathurst. One brother; Arnold Gray of Big River. Three sisters; Leona Waters of Victoria, BC
Laura Godin of Moncton, Doris Bulner (Ross) of Ontario.
17 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
He was pre-deceased by a son; Douglas, a daughter; Edith, grandson; Jamie Harris, brothers; Leo, Albert, Norman, sisters; Theresa Duguay, Violet Belanger and Ruby McGrath.
The body will rest after 2 p.m. Monday at Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday afternoon (August 31, 2010) at 4 p.m. from Holy Family Church, Bathurst. Visiting hours are Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 and Tuesday from 2 p.m. until time of Funeral. Donations in memory of Irving may be made to the Lung Association, Heart Stroke Foundation or a favorite charity.
