Bathurst - Pearl Gammon passed away peacefully at the Foyer Notre Dame de Lourdes on October 25, 2010, at the age of 96. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was the daughter of the late Emma Black and Perley Tingley. She is survived by her daughters, Alma (Roy Hayward) Halifax, Dorothy Gammon, Bathurst; and Elizabeth (Kerry Mattila) Burritts Rapids, Ontario. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Richard (Bathurst) and Barbara Fitters (Morelia, Mexico); Karen O'Keeffe, and great grand-daughter, Tara O'Keeffe (Toronto). Pearl was predeceased by her husband, Edgar ``Toots`` Gammon in 1989. Also predeceased by brothers Donald and Gerard Tingley and John Adams; sisters Glendene Wheaton, Ardith Russell and Dorothy Allison.
Pearl was a lifetime member of the United Church Women, the Bathurst Curling Club and the Ladies Auxillary of the Royal Canadian Legion.
A celebration of her life will be held at First United Church, 309 St. Patrick Street, Bathurst, on Wednesday, October 27th, at 4:00 p.m., Reverend Blair Lewis presiding. Reception to follow in the Church Hall. Burial will be in the Highland View Cemetery. Donations in Pearl's memory may be made to the First United Church or to a charity of one's choice.
