Tremblay – Laurent Godin, 72, of Tremblay, passed away on Monday (March 14, 2011) at the Chauleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst.
Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Alfred and Thérèse (Chiasson) Godin.
Laurent worked for the Toronto Police Force before coming back to Bathurst and working at Brunswick Mines until his retirement. He was a member of U.C.T. Council 827, Bathurst and the prayer group Cursillo.
Besides his wife, Claudette (Bertin) Godin, he is survived by two children; Marc of Tremblay and Colette Godin of Ottawa, ON. Two brothers; Roger (Opale) of Dunlop and Jean-Claude of Bathurst. Three sisters; Jeannette Pascon (Lino) and Patricia St.Pierre (Donald) both of Saint John, NB and Alice Godin Gingras of Alfred, ON. 3 grandchildren; James, Dawn and Christina. Several nieces and nephews.
He was pre-deceased by a brother; George.
The family will receive relatives and friends after 2 p.m. Thursday at Heritage Funeral Home (www.mfheritage.com), 270 rue Centre, Beresford. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday afternoon (March 18, 2011) at 4 p.m. from Église St. Polycarpe, Petit-Rocher. Visiting hours are Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 and Friday from 2 p.m. until time of Funeral.
