Bathurst – George Perron, 77, of Sunset Dr., Bathurst, died Friday May 27, 2011 after a courageous battle with cancer at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst.

Born in Edmunston, he was the son of the late Emile and Evel (Oakes) Perron.

He worked for the former Bathurst Power and Paper, Bathurst Curling Club and the Volunteer Centre.

He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

He is survived by:  Three sons, Mike of St. Andrews, Robert (Suzanne), Emile both of Bathurst.  One daughter, Denise Philpotts of Fredericton.  One grandson, Kurtis.

He was pre-deceased by a brother, Guy.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, (May 29, 2011) from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 at the Elhatton Funeral Home. (www.elhatton.com)  Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday (May 30, 2011) at 11 a.m. from the Sacred Heart Cathedral, St. Andrew St.  Donations in memory of George may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society a charity of the donor’s choice.
