Bathurst - Gilbert Doucet, 85, of Beresford, passed away on Monday (November 28, 2011) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, after a lengthy illness.
Born in Beresford, he was the son of the late Alfred and Agnes (Montague) Doucet.
He was a former employee of SMI Industries.
He is survived by his wife, Thérèse (Haché) Doucet.
Three sons: Guy (Solange) and Ralph (Jasmine) both of Bathurst and Elmer (Julie) of Edmonton, Alta.
Two daughters: Sandra Bourgeois (Paul) of North Carolina and Gladys of Moncton.
Three sisters: Rita Cadieux (late Léon) of Montreal, Que., Della Lynch (late William) of Bathurst and Doris Pitre (Eric) of Beresford.
Five brothers: William (late Jeannine) and Leonard (Emily) of Bathurst, Lawrence (Eileen) of Amherst, N.-S., Louis (Jeannette) of Allardville and Donald (Marielle) of Beresford.
He is also survived by his grandchildren: Shanie, Marc, Philippe, Chantal, Stephanie, Kristen, Kelsey and one great-grandchild Taliane.
Gilbert also has numerous nieces and nephews.
He was pre-deceased by 2 brothers: Joseph (late Marie Anne) and Norman (Cyrilla) of Bathurst and 1 sister, Stella Duguay (late Edmund) of Beresford.
Visitations will be held from Heritage Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Beresford, on Thursday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 p.m. until time of Funeral. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday (December 2, 2011) at 4:30 p.m. from Holy Name of Jesus Church, Beresford.
Donations in memory of Gilbert may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a favorite charity.
