It is with much sadness that the family announces the death of Emily (Drysdale) Doucet, 83, wife of Leonard Doucet, of Vanier Blvd., Bathurst, which occurred on Sunday (June 10, 2012) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, surrounded by her family.
Born in Bathurst, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Wilhelmine (Jean) Drysdale.
She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Herman J. Good, V.C. Br. 18 of the Royal Canadian Legion, Bathurst.
Besides her husband, she is survived by one son, Lucien (Madeleine Walsh) of Montreal; one daughter, Diane Doucet Roy (Fernand) of Bathurst;
six grandchildren: Sylvie (Craig Garrett), Randy (Stephanie), Jeffery (Michelle), Danny, Marc (Myriam), Louis Pierre (Julie); fourteen great-grandchildren: Brianne, Madison, Kirkland, Abigail, Aiden, Ashlynn, Gary, Dylan, Daly, Shad, Eve, Karine, Jean Alexis and Marc Antoine;
she is also survived by one brother, Lucien Drysdale (Jackie) of Bathurst; her sisters: Martina Thibodeau (late Sylvester) of Bathurst, Juliette Tremblay (late Claude), Sylvia, both of Montreal, and Giselle Drysdale of Toronto; many nieces and nephews.
She was pre-deceased by her son, Gary; her brothers: Alcide, Romeo and Raymond; her sister, Parmella.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Elhatton's Funeral Home, Bathurst, on Thursday, June 14, 2012 from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday June 15, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Elhatton's Funeral Home Chapel from where the Funeral Service will be celebrated at 4 p.m.
The family would like to thanks the staff of the Manoir Brise de l'Oasis the 4th west unit at the hospital as well as the palliative Care unit, where she received wonderful and loving care during her long illness. Donations in memory of Emily may be made to the Alzheimer's Society or a charity of the donors choice.
