Bathurst - Mrs. Lillian Comeau, 86, loving wife of Herman Comeau, of Millhaven Court, Bathurst, passed away peacefully on Saturday (October 13, 2012) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst.
Born in Bathurst, she was the daughter of the late John and Mabel (Jamieson) Hinton.
She courageously fought her battle with cancer for 11 years, showing strength & acceptance. Never did she complain and always enjoyed going out, playing cards with her friends at her home whenever possible. She loved playing Bridge also.
She graduated from Bathurst High School and worked at the former Bathurst Power & Paper, also at Eaton’s in Moncton and Toronto for a period of time and later years at Northern Machine Works.
She did a lot of volunteer work in her early years, canvassing from door to door for different organizations & working at the Blood Clinics at the Legion Hall. She and her husband enjoyed dancing, traveling and playing cards, "45’s" especially with their friends.
She was a member of the First United Church, life member of the U.C.W, Order of the Eastern Star, received a life membership of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Herman J. Good, V.C. Br. 18 of the Royal Canadian Legion, Bathurst, in 2010 and member of the Golden Age Club, Bathurst.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Besides her husband, she is survived by several nieces and nephews.
The body will rest after 2 p.m. Monday at Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday (October 16, 2012) at 2 p.m. from the First United Church, St. Patrick St., Bathurst. Visiting hours are Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.
