Bathurst - Wilfred A. Roy, 81, of College St., Bathurst, passed away on Thursday (November 1, 2012) at the Saint John Regional Hospital.
Born in Sainte Rosette, he was the son of the late Adelard and Christianne (Daigle) Roy.
He served in the Korean War and was a member of the Herman J. Good, V.C. Br. 18 Royal Canadian Legion, Bathurst. He was a retired Commissionaire.
He is survived by his spouse, Victoria (Arseneau) Boulay.
One son, Mario Roy (Monique) of Bathurst.
Three daughters: Huguette Roy (Daniel Doucet) of North Tetagouche, Yolande Roy (Rolland Cormier) of Petit-Rocher and Noëlla Vautour (Roger) of Lagaceville.
8 grandchildren: Tina, Marie-Michelle, Mikael, Yohan, Amélie, Shanie, Maryse and Jonathan.
Two brothers: Alphé Roy (Marie-Blanche) of South Tetagouche, Arthur Roy (Anna) of Montreal, QC.
Four sisters: Edwidge Arseneau (Ernest), Amanda Aubé (Gordon) both of Beresford, Yvonne LaCroix (Clairmond) and Evéline Roy (Yvon) both of Montreal, QC,
Several nieces and nephews.
He was pre-deceased by five brothers: Normand, Emery, Jean, Omer, Livain and one sister, Régina.
The body will rest after 1 p.m. Monday until time of funeral, at Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday (November 5, 2012) at 4 p.m. from Our Lady of the Rosary Church, St. Peter Ave., Bathurst.
