Bathurst - Mrs. Doris Lavigne, 88, wife of the late Alphie Lavigne, formerly of King Ave., Bathurst, passed away on Saturday (November 24, 2012) at the Villa Sormany in Robertville.
Born in Campbellton, she was the daughter of the late John and Alice (Cormier) Chamberlain.
She was past president of the Maple Leaf Club.
She is survived by three daughters: Patricia Dugas (Victor) of Bathurst, Jeannine Lavigne of Big River and Dianne Sullivan (Joseph) of St. Stephan, N.B.
One brother, Ronald Chamberlain of Bathurst.
Two sisters: Elsie Moreton and Jeannine Baker both of Hamilton, Ont., 9 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, she was pre-deceased by a son Leonard; brothers: John, Emery, Kenneth, Leslie and a sister Irene Duguay.
The body will rest after 2 p.m. Monday at Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday morning (November 27, 2012) at 11 a.m. from the Sacred Heart Cathedral, St. Andrew St., Bathurst.
Visiting hours are Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 and Tuesday from 9 a.m. until time of Funeral.
Donations in memory of Doris may be made to the Villa Sormany or a favorite charity.
