1964 - 2012

It is with great sadness that the family of Jean Marc Lavigne wishes to announce of his passing. Living in Belleville, Ont but formally of Bathurst, he passed away suddenly on Dec 22 at the tender age of 48. Jean Marc chose to live in Belleville over the last few years to be closer to his proud and joy, Elisha, his only child.  

Born in Bathurst, he was the son of Elmer Lavigne of Bathurst and the late Graziella ``Grace`` Lavigne (McGrath). 

Besides his daughter and father, he leaves behind one brother, Donald (Pauline Bolduc) of Bathurst. 

Two sisters: Muriel Lavigne of Ottawa and Joanne Lavigne Boudreau (Ronny) of St-Anne. 

He will greatly be missed by his 3 nephews who he was very fond of Erik, Marc, Patrick, and a grand nephew, Jacob.  Several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. 

A very special mention has to be made to his many, many friends and support workers from Belleville. Jean Marc suffered many hardships in his lifetime, lots of people were involved in trying to help him out in many ways, he greatly appreciated the helping hands that touched his life. But the Belleville guys and gals, not only became his second family, they all stood by him and witnessed him living his last few years with a greater attitude towards life and being truly happy. Jean Marc spoke highly of the people he met in Belleville, although his family never had the chance to meet you all, we are filled with gratitude and we will fondly remember the wonderful words that our brother spoke of you. Thank you just doesn’t seem like enough to express how grateful we are that Jean Marc had you in his life. 

For those who wish to send tokens of sympathy, the family would appreciate that any donations are to be given to Elisha, Jean Marc’s only child.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at Elhatton`s Funeral Home, Bathurst.  A Memorial service will be held from Elhatton`s Funeral Home Chapel on Monday (December 31, 2012) at 2 p.m.  Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton`s Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.
