1928 - 2013
Mr. Marcel Savard, husband of Hélène Laviolette, of Vallée Lourdes Drive in Bathurst, passed away on Friday, January 11 2013, at the age of 84.
Born in Montréal (Québec), he was the son of the late Ludger (Lucien) Savard and the late Irène Pelchat. Marcel was a teacher, guidance counselor , musician, choir member and organist at the Our Lady of the Rosary Church in Bathurst.
Besides his life partner Hélène, he is survived by his children: Mario (Francine) of North Tetagouche , Pierre of Montréal and Christiane (Robert Hammond) of Ottawa; his grandchildren: Cassie, Macy and Alex; also a nephew Robert Savard, and many friends.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Elhatton Funeral Home,(www.elhatton.com) 187 St. George Street, Bathurst, on Monday January 14th 2013 at 2 p.m.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday January 14th at 4 p.m. from Our Lady of the Rosary Church, St. Peter Avenue in Bathurst.
In memory of Marcel, donations maybe made to the Chaleur Regional Hospital Foundation, Bathurst, the Alzheimer’s Society or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
Visiting hours are Monday, January 14th, 2013 from 2 p.m. until time of funeral.
