1929 - 2013

Bathurst - Gérard Roy, 83, formerly of St. Andrew St., Bathurst, passed away Friday (March 22, 2013) at the Foyer Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes, Bathurst.

Born in Dunlop, he was the son of the late James "Jack" and Roseanna (Cormier) Roy.

He was retired from Brunswick Mines after 28 years of service.

Besides his wife, Antoinette "Toni" (Boudreau) Roy, he is survived by one daughter, Rose-Marie Roy of Shediac.

Three granddaughters: Lynne, Catherine and Natalie; five great-grandchildren. 

Two brothers: Ligouri Roy (Hélène) of Bathurst and Réginald Roy (Martha) of Cornwall, Ont.

Two sisters: Clarisse Roy of Dunlop and Cécile Thériault of Fredericton.

Several nieces and nephews.

He was pre-deceased by a sister; Eulalie, and three brothers; Hermyl, Delphé and Adrian.

There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home.  A Memorial Service will be celebrated on Wednesday (March 27, 2013) at 10 a.m. from Sacred Heart Cathedral, St. Andrew St., Bathurst.

Donations in memory of Gérard may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a favorite charity.
