Bathurst - Mrs. Edith Arseneau, 89, wife of the late George Arseneau, of Union St., Bathurst and formerly of Joan of Arc Lane, Bathurst, passed away Thursday (March 28, 2013) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst.
Born in Sainte-Marie-sur-Mer, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Anastasie (Paulin) Godin.
She is survived by three sons: Michel (Rhonda Griffin) of Laval, Que., Donald (Isella Dugas) of Beresford and Paul of Quebec, Que.
One daughter, Carolle Arseneau (John Dwyer) of Ste-Thérèse.
Five grandchildren: Christian, Denis André, Jean-Michel, Stephanie and Nicholas.
Two great-grandchildren: Nathan and Marie-Eve.
Two brothers: Ernest Godin of Shippagan, Gérard Godin (Dina Haché) of St-Hubert, Que.
One sister, Adrienne (Lucien Thibodeau) of Dalhousie.
Brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Yvonne Gautreau, Edouard and Noëlla Arseneau, Gérard and Léa Arseneau and Anne Marie and Jacques Morreau; several nieces and nephews; and her friend and care giver, Angélie Légère.
She was pre-deceased by sisters: Emilienne Cowan, Julienne Boudreau, Emérentienne Lirette; brothers: Éphrem, Étienne and Émile.
The body will rest after 2 p.m. Sunday at Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday morning (April 1, 2013) at 11 a.m. from the Sacred Heart Cathedral, St. Andrew St., Bathurst.
In memory of Edith, donations may be made to the Palliative Care or the Chaleur Regional Hospital Foundation, Bathurst or a charity of your choice.
Visiting hours are Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 and Monday from 9 a.m. until time of Funeral.
