1921 - 2013
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Gilberte (Robichaud) White, of St.Camille St., Bathurst, which occurred on April 12, 2013 at the Chaleur Regional Hospital in Bathurst at the age of 91. She was the wife of the late Basil White and daughter of the late Jean G. and Amanda (Boudreau) Robichaud.
She is survived by her seven children: David (Gwyneth) Stratford, of P.E.I., Michael (Gail) of Bathurst, Maurice (Rebecca) of Burlington, Ont., Lorraine Richey (David) of Dartmouth N.S., Roderick (Linda) of Bathurst, Donna Morrison (Lloyd) of Bathurst, Doreen Densmore (Bruce) of Fall River N.S.,
Twenty grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
She also leaves her two brothers: Valerien of Shippagan, Yvon of Toronto.
One sister, Alexandria of Fredericton.
She was predeceased by Basil, her husband of 67.5 years, in July 2012; two sons in infancy: John and Robert, as well as her brothers: Hedard J., Lorenzo, Gilbert, Fernand, Victorien and her sisters: Hectorine, Diana, Delcina and Yvonne.
She worked many years for Tower Jewelers at the Place Bathurst Mall serving as store manager. She was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary, the Holy Family Catholic Women's League for more than 65 years and served as the first President of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus, Council 1935.
We would like to thank Father Culligan for his continued support, as well as Elizabeth Ryan, Claudette Gallagher, Yvette O'Neil, Sharon Comeau and Sharon Glazier for their care and devotion to Mom, as well as all her neighbors who were always there when needed. A special thank you to Father Leger and the palliative care staff of the Chaleur Regional Hospital.
The family would appreciate donations to the Robert L. Knowles Veterans Unit, to Holy Family Parish, to the Palliative Care Unit of the Chaleur Regional Hospital or a favorite charity.
Visitations for Gilberte will be held at Elhatton Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com) Bathurst, on Monday (April 15, 2013) from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9, Tuesday, April 16, 2013 from 9 until time of funeral.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, April, 16, 2013 at 11 a.m. from Holy Family Church, Bathurst.
