It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Wilbur (Bill) Little of Bathurst, N.B., at the age of 95 and 10 months, husband of Marie (Frenette) Little, which occurred at Robert L. Knowles Veterans Unit in Bathurst, on Wednesday, April 8, 2015.

Born in Cadillac, Saskatchewan, he was the son of the Morgan and Maude (Kyle) Little.

Upon graduating from Cadillac High School, he was awarded the Governor General's Medal for the highest standing of schools in South Western Saskatchewan.  He joined the R.C.A.F. for the next 5 years, he served overseas as flying officer, Bomber Command where he completed 35 missions over enemy territory with Squadron 424 and 405 Pathfinders.  After the war, he was employed with MANDO in Kenora, Ontario for 12 years, then ALCAN in Kitimat, B.C.  In 1965 he joined the staff at Brunswick Mining & Smelting Division in Belledune, N.B., where he retired in 1984.

Wilbur was a member of Holy Family Church; a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus; past President of Canadian Legion Bathurst Branch no. 18; past Maritime Director of Twin Seas Caravan Trailer Club. He was a member of Golden Age Club no. 200.

Besides his wife, Marie, he is survived by one brother-in-law, Gérald (Norma) Frenette of Beresford.

Two sisters-in-law: Rosa Doucet of (Manoir Oasis de la Baie) and Vénolia Aubé of Moncton.

Also several nieces and nephews and specials friends & care takers, Carol and Fred Best.

Bill was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

He was predeceased by one brother, Norman and one sister, Luella.

He was a devoted husband and enjoyed travelling.  Bill and Marie made several trips across Canada and U.S. and spent many winters in Florida.  One of his hobbies was collecting Driftwood which he leaves a priceless collection.  He enjoyed life to the fullest.

Special thanks to the wonderful staff of R.L. Knowles nursing home for their excellent care and compassion.  Sincere thanks to special nephew and godson, Jacques Roy and his wife, Marie (Mae) for their tremendous help and understanding during this difficult time.

Visitation will be at Elhatton’s Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com) in Bathurst on Friday, April 10, 2015 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

Funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 2 p.m. from the Holy Family Church, St. Peter Ave., Bathurst.

In lieu of flowers, in memory of Bill, donation to Canadian Cancer Society or a favourite charity would be appreciated by the family.
