1923 - 2016

Janeville - It is with sadness that the family announce the passing of Donald A. Ellis, husband of Jean (Daley) Ellis of Janeville, which occurred on Friday, August 12, 2016 at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst at the age of 93.

Born in Janeville, he was the son of the late Alvin and Elizabeth (Scott) Ellis.

Don was a farmer and fisherman most of his life.  After his retirement he repaired and sold farming equipment.  He enjoyed camping and traveling with his wife, Jean.  An avid reader, Don was mechanically inclined and self taught; he was able to repair just about anything.

Besides his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Nancy Andrews (Paul) of Ontario.

One son, Brooks (Lou) of Janeville.

Two grandchildren:  Aaron of Peterborough, Ontario and Caitlin of Chemainus, British Colombia.

One sister, Edith Scott of Sackville, NB.

Several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a brother, Melvin in 1944 and a sister, Charlotte Wiseman in 1959.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 from 1 pm until funeral at Central United Church, Clifton, from where the funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. 

Donations in memory of Donald may be made to Central United Church or a charity of the donor's choice.
