It is with sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Mr. Daniel Couture, 54 of Couture Street, Bathurst on January 5, 2018.

Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Edmond and the late Jeannette (Vienneau) Couture.

He was a loving husband to Sylvie (Bastarache) Couture, a devoted Dad to Jean-Michel (Janie Levesque) and Pier-Luc (Riley Doyle) and a very proud Grand-papa to Mathieu all of Bathurst.

He was the brother of Linda (Gaétan) Arseneau of Beresford, Nicole (Ken) Harrison of Atholville, Marguerite Couture (Magella Roy)of Alcida and Nathalie (Stéphane) Roy of Bathurst.  He was the son-in-law of Pierrette Léger and brother-in-law of Daniel Bastarache both of Beresford.  He was uncle to many nieces and nephews. And a dear and true friend to so many.

Daniel was very hardworking, patient, honest, loving and a person you could count on.  Always there to help a friend in need.  He worked as a mechanic most of his life and owned his own garage for 10 years.  He was well known as "Dan’s the man".  He loved to sing, especially with his sisters, which happy memories will always remain.  He enjoyed playing golf with the boys on Tuesday nights. He would come home with stories every time.  He simply enjoyed life and being with his family. 

He was and will always be very proud of his boys, Jean-Michel et Pier-Luc, they were his pride and joy.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

The body will rest after 7 pm Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at Elhatton’s Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.  Funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday afternoon, January 10, 2018 at 4 pm from Our Lady of the Rosary Church, St. Peter Ave., Bathurst. 

Visiting hours are on Tuesday from 7 to 9 pm and on Wednesday from 2 pm until time of funeral. 

Donations in memory of Daniel may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
