Mrs. Alice Payne, 89, wife of the late Claude Payne, formerly of Allison Cres., Bathurst, died Sunday (July 17, 2005) at the Foyer Notre Dame de Lourdes, Bathurst.
Born in Chipman, she was the daughter of the late George Washington and Alice Maude (Burgess) Fulton.
She graduated from the Provincial Normal School in Fredericton in 1936 and taught in South Tetagouche. She was member and long time choir member of the Saint George's Anglican Church, Bathurst.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She was pre-deceased by her husband, Claude in 2001.
She is survived by her only daughter:
Elaine Eddy of Toronto, Ont.
Several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was pre-deceased by a brother, Andrew, and a sister, Jennie Burpee.
The body rested at Elhatton Funeral Home, Bathurst. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday (21 July, 2005) at 2:00 p.m. from St. George's Anglican Church, Bathurst. Burial will be in the St. George's Anglican Cemetery, Bathurst.
