Bathurst – It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Mrs. Évangeline Cormier of Bathurst, wife of the late David Cormier which occurred Thursday, January 14th, 2021 at the Chaleur Regional Hospital at the age of 70.
Born in Bathurst, she was the daughter of the late John and Exilda “Délia” (Chamberlain) Devereaux.
She is survived by her two children: Nathalie Cormier (Tim) and David Jr. (Elizabeth) both of Bathurst.
Her grandchildren whom she adored: Vanessa, Sébastien, Rebecca and three great-grandchildren: Grace, Lukas and Noah.
Two brothers: Lawrence Devereaux (Rose-Marie) and Patrick Devereaux (Sandy) both of Bathurst.
Two sisters: Stella Thériault and Éveline Roy (Edgar) both of Bathurst.
Several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Wallace and a sister, Albina.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Due to covid-19 restrictions, a funeral mass will be celebrated from Sacred Heart Cathedral at a later date.
Donations in memory of Évangeline may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of the donor’s choice.
