  •  Date of Death: September 04, 2021
  •  Location: Bathurst

Bathurst - It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Martha Marquart, which occurred at home on Saturday afternoon, September 4, 2021 at the age of 76.

She left us peacefully, surrounded by her spouse, Alain de Warnaffe, and her two children, Valerie Marquart (Bruce) and Roderich Marquart (Phyllis).

She was the daughter of the late Bernard Paul Dominique Kuster and the late Antonine Yvonne Batisse.

She is survived by her sister Elisabeth Domenech (Alain), her brother Bernard Kuster (Bahia), many nieces and nephews and her beloved Tatou Mimi (Hélène Thimoléon) who turned 100 years old last June.

We will never forget her devoted love for her family, her charm, her sense of humor and her inner beauty that radiated out to anyone in her presence. She will be forever missed by those who knew her. Martha lived life to the fullest, on several continents, from Algeria, to France, to Germany, to finally settle in Canada. She was a talented painter. A gifted conversationalist, she was a source of inspiration and endless love for her children, spouse and loved ones. Martha loved a good laugh, good food and a good game of cards. Her children inherited her famous French baguette recipe, as well as her love of nature, flowers and animals. Martha was a beautiful person and will continue to inspire those who had the good fortune to know her.

There will be no visitation or ceremony. Those who wish may make a donation to a charity of their choice. Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton’s Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.
