With celebration of a life well lived, we the family, announce the passing of Arthur Joseph Roy of Bathurst, which occurred Monday, November 29th, 2021, at the Chaleur Regional Hospital at the age 83.
Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Eloi and Clarisse (Frenette) Roy.
Arthur is survived by his wife, Anne Roy (White), daughters: Chantal and Patricia Roy, grandchildren James and Ian Armstrong, and son in law, Philémon Desrochers-Gagnon.
Brothers and sisters: Geralda Ross (Raymond), Florence Ross (Howard), Armand Roy (Doris), and Irene Hachey (Ross).
Brothers and sisters in law: Stephen and Jeannine White, Allan and Irene White, Denis and Audrey White, and Adeline Thibideau (George).
Several treasured nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sisters: Jacqueline Roy (Sylvio) and Claudette Smith.
Arthur was very active in the community. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus of Sacred Heart Cathedral and UCT. He volunteered for Meals on Wheels, the breakfast program at Mary Gosnell school, Bathurst Horseman's club, and the Canadian Cancer Society.
He was a Real Estate Broker who loved to fish. A devoted son, husband and father, he cherished family gatherings.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, December 2nd, 2021, at the Sacred Heart Cathedral, Bathurst. Proof of double-vaccination is required.
Donations in honor of Arthur may be made to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Canadian Cancer Society, or the charity of choice.
