It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Daniel "Danny" Donald Bard, of Bathurst, N.B. on Wednesday January 19th, 2022, at the Bathurst Regional Hospital, at the age of 72.
Born in Edmundston, N.B. he was the son of the late Lionel Bard and Noëlla (Aubut) Bard.
Dan is survived by his loving wife of 51 years; Sandra Bard (McLean); their three daughters, Tanya Bard (Cameron) of Smiths Falls, ON, Jodie Bland (Josh) of Waterford, VA, and Amy-Jo Atkinson (Matthew) of Elora, ON.
He will also be missed by his grandchildren, Tiffany, Coral-Jade, Taylor, Blake, Saylor, Bryce, Ansel and Indiana.
He is survived by his sisters, Rose-Marie St-Pierre (Mario), of Bathurst, N.B., Anne Bard-Lavigne and Martine Bard (Jean-Claude) both of Beresford, N.B.
He predeceased, by his sisters: Line (Bard) Arseneau, Louise, (Bard) Paulin and grandson Daniel - Jordan “D.J.”
He also leaves behind countless, aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and friends.
Dan was a dedicated craftsman who spent his professional life lending his skills as a Carpenter and Tradesman. He had notable projects such as the Lighthouse as seen from La Promenade Waterfront. He had a passion for Golf and could often be found practicing his swing in the back yard.
Dan was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend; always there for those in need. He loved to laugh and always gave meaningful advice. Dan was an honest and admirable man; he will be lovingly missed by all who knew him.
Your wings were ready but our hearts were not. We know that Danny will always be with us in Spirit and Heart.
The family would like to extend a special “Thank You” to the Extra-Mural Staff along with the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Palliative Care Unit for the excellent care during his brief stay.
Due to government restrictions, related to Covid-19, there will be no funeral service.
