Bathurst - Eloi Lavigne, 87, of Queen Elizabeth Dr., Bathurst, passed away on Friday (January 13, 2005) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst.
Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late James and Bella (Roy) Lavigne.
He served in World War II with the Royal Canadian Air Force in Canada and overseas. He was a life member of the Herman J. Good, V.C. Br. 18, Royal Canadian Legion, Bathurst. He was retired from the former Consolidated Bathurst Paper Mill and was a member of the Company's Quarter Century Club. Charter member of the Bathurst Lion's Club, former member of the Bathurst Curling Club, Gowan Brae Golf and Country Club and a volunteer with the Pioneer Club and was honored by the Telephone Pioneers of America.

There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday (January 16, 2006) at 2:00 p.m. from the Sacred Heart Cathedral, St. Andrew St., Bathurst. Burial will be in the Holy Family Cemetery in the spring. For anyone wishing to send tokens of sympathy, the family would appreciate donations to a charity of the donors choice. A Legion Service will be held following the Funeral Mass.
