It is with heavy hearts that we, the family of Stephen Sherrard, announce his passing which occurred on Sunday, February 12, 2023 at the age of 58.

Born in Sudbury, Ontario, he was the son of Glenda (Irvine) Sherrard and the late Raymond Sherrard.

Besides his mother Glenda, he is survived by his sons, his pride and joy: Kurt (Catherine Doyle) and Keith (Julie Hachey) of Big River and their mother, Rhoda Sherrard (Glendenning) of Bathurst; brothers, Doug Sherrard of Big River; Todd (Karen) Sherrard of Bathurst; and sister Krista (Aaron) Hayward of Nova Scotia. He is also survived by two beautiful grandchildren, Jemma and Finley Sherrard, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Stephen had a passion for the outdoors and sports. He found peace and comfort in nature and spent many hours fishing and canoeing. His greatest joy came from being with his boys. He committed many hours to coaching Kurt and Keith hockey throughout their youth. He passed on his love of nature and sports to both boys, and he will be thought of fondly with love as they continue through life.

Visitation will be at Elhatton’s Funeral Home in Bathurst on Friday, February 17, 2023, from 4-8pm.

There will be a private graveside burial in the Spring.
