Bathurst - It is with great sadness we, the family, announce the death of Ms. Noreen Connolly, which occurred Friday (March 3, 2006) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst.
Born in Bathurst, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Nelda (Clifford) Connolly.
Noreen was born on March 8, 1927. She was educated at St. F.X. and Mount St. Vincent Universities. She received her B.Sc in nursing from the University of Toronto and University of Moncton. She nursed in Florida, Asbestos and Montreal, Que. before settling in Bathurst. She was a nursing instructor most of her life, teaching students at both the old and new hospitals in Bathurst.
She was actively involved with the Bathurst Heritage Commission, the Irish Canadian Cultural Association, the Multicultural Association, the Retired Nurses Association, and of course the Monday afternoon bridge club at the Bathurst Curling Club. She was well known for her knowledge of antiques and her acts of kindness.
Noreen will be sadly missed by her:

Brother: John Gerald Connolly of Toronto, ON Also mourning the loss are her nieces, Alison, Heather, Leslie, Anne (Delicaet); Sharon, Judy and Mary (Connolly); Bronwyn (Connolly); nephews Bruce and Paul (Delicaet); Michael (Buzas); J.E. (Connolly); and Donald, William, John and Joseph (Connolly).
Besides her parents, Noreen was pre-deceased by her brothers, Donald and William.
There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home. We will celebrate her full life with a Funeral Mass at the Sacred Heart Cathedral, St. Andrew St., Bathurst, on Saturday (March 11, 2006) at 1:30 p.m. If desired, donations in memory of Noreen may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of the donors choice.
