Allardville - Jacques H. Bernard, 71 and 11 months, of Allardville, passed away on Tuesday (March 14, 2006) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst. Born in St. Jules, Gaspésie, Que, he was the son of the late Eudore and Elizabeth (Poirier) Bernard. Mr. Bernard owned and operated Bernard Ultramar in Allardville for over 30 years, member of Father Leon Gagnon Knights of Columbus, Allardville and was their 1st Grand Knight, a 4th degree Knights of Columbus Council Msg Wheten of Bathurst , member and former administrator of la Caisse Populaire d'Allardville, committee member of the Allardville Fire Dept. He was very involved in Christ King parish and the Cursillo group. He is survived by his wife Iona (Kenny) Bernard. Five daughters: Lucie (Laurent) Larocque of Beresford. Paulette (Denis) Hebert of Allardville. Suzanne (Michel) Aube of Bathurst. Joanne Bernard of Moncton. Monique Bernard of Allardville. One son: Jacques (Claudine) Bernard, Allardville. Three brothers: Yvon (Lucille) Bernard, Rimouski. Jean-Marie (Helene) Bernard, Montreal, Que. Camille Bernard, Saint Siméon, Gaspesie, Que. Two sisters: Paulette Bernard, Pabo Gaspesie, Que. Jeannette (Jacques) Bernard, St Jules Gaspesie, Que. Six grandchildren, Denis Larocque, Maryse Aubé, Josée Bernard, Marc Aubé, Emilie Bernard and Jean - Pierre Hebert and one great-grandson, Diego Larocque. Many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law neices and nephews. The body is resting at Elhatton Funeral Home (www.elhaton.com), Bathurst. Funeral mass will be celebrated at Christ King Church, Allardville Thursday 16 March 2996 at 4:00 p.m. Burial will be in the parish cemetery in the spring.
