It is with heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Walter Aubie, 80 of Bathurst, which occurred on Friday, March 1, 2024 at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, after a brief illness.
Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Doran and Sylvia (Boudreau) Aubie.
Walter was an Iron worker welder by trade. He was a hard worker and a great provider for his family which he loved.
Being out in nature, was his happy place, hunting and fishing were his passions. He also had a big heart for animals. We were never without a pet growing up whether it was a dog, cat, bird, racoon, squirrel etc.
He was a self-taught guitar player and loved his country and western music, which he often played with family and friends. Walter was a dedicated Toronto Blue Jay and Montreal Canadians fan until the end.
He will be sadly missed by family and friends. We were blessed to have had him for 80 years. Rest in peace.
He is survived by his loving wife, Hannah (nee Sutton-Boudreau).
His children: Lee Anne Jean (Denis) of Big River and Richard (Isabelle) of Bathurst.
Three grandchildren: Amy Rose, Justin and Jayden.
Three sisters: Irene Morais (Leo) of Bathurst, Rose Marie Hosie (late Dave) of Toronto and Betty Anne LeBlanc (late David) of Bathurst. Two brothers: Danny (Lori) and Bernie (Norma) both of Bathurst.
