Bathurst – John Bullen, the devoted husband of the late Murielle (Young) Bullen, of Bathurst, passed away Wednesday August 14, 2024, at the Chaleur Regional Hospital after a brief illness, at the age of 81.

Born in Thirsk, County of York, England to the late Neville and Barbara (Swayne) Bullen.

John was a retired physiotherapist who worked at the Chaleur Regional Hospital and later opened a private clinic, Physiothérapie Bathurst Physiotherapy. Over the years, John used his training and healing hands to help many patients. Despite the challenges associated with being visually impaired, he always faced life with a positive attitude and a keen sense of humour.

John enjoyed spending time with the love of his life, Murielle, at their cottage in Caraquet, where they welcomed family and friends every summer.

He is survived by his two children: Carol (John) and her children Ashley and Troy and Tina and her children Andrew (Christine), Ben and one great-grandson, Noah. 

He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his step-son, Andrew and his children Meghan and Nicholas, his step-daughters: Helen (Dwayne) and their children Eve, Mia, and Kate, and Stephanie (Jorge) and their children Samantha and Alex.

He is also survived by his younger brother: Tony (Kate) Bullen, and twin sisters: Janet Dutton and Priscilla Mancini. He was preceded in death by his older brother: Robert (Jen) Bullen.

The family would like to thank Southern Comfort Villa, Caring Companion Home Care Services, and all the health care professionals who looked after John so well.

Visitations will be held at Elhatton Funeral Home on Friday, September 13, 2024, from 2-4 and 7-9.
