Bathurst – It is with great sadness that we the family, announce the passing of John LeBlanc, husband of the late Lorette (Doucet) LeBlanc and Winniefred (Albert) LeBlanc, which occurred Sunday September 8, 2024, at the Résidence Prestige in Bathurst, at the age of 91.
Born in Val-D’Amour, he was the 9th child of 11 children to the son of the late Frank LeBlanc and Roseanne (Levesque) LeBlanc.
Besides his 2nd wife of Caraquet, he is survived by three children: Cathy LeBlanc (Michael Ballak), Andy (Silvana Bosca) and Jean Paul “J. P.” (Vivian).
Children from his second wife, Richard (Colombe), Anne (Philippe Eddie), Florence, Michel (Rosemonde), Réginald and Lucie.
Grandchildren: Jean Philippe “J.P.”, Ryan, Shawn, Scott, and Robert; his great-grandchildren; his brother Roger from California, and three sisters-in-law: Theresa O’Donnell, Irène LeBlanc, and Rina LeBlanc.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Lorette, his granddaughter Kaylee Ballak, as well as his brothers and sisters.
Sincere thanks to Résidence Prestige and the Extra Mural Program staff. The family will always be grateful for the help, support, and love they provided to our dad during his last four years with them at the Residence.
John spent several years in Florida where he had the chance to practice his favorite sport: golf. Passionate about reading, he especially loved history, geography, and biographies of politicians. He loved going on cruises, made numerous trips to Europe, and had the chance to ski in the Alps. Twenty years ago, he was part of the crew of the sailing vessel “Europa”, for a voyage representing Samuel de Champlain’s arrival in Port-Royal.
In memory of John, donations can be made to the charity of your choice.
A celebration of life will be held at the Bathurst Marina on Tuesday September 17, 2024, from 3 to 5 p.m. for family and close friends.
The funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of the Coopérative funéraire “La Colombe ltée” of Caraquet and Elhatton’s Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.
