With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Ralph Borland, who left us on October 5, 2024, at the age of 75. Born in Toronto, Ralph was a beloved husband, son, brother, popi (poppa), and friend, touching the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Ralph was known for his warm smile, compassionate spirit, and unwavering kindness. His impact on those around him was profound and will be cherished by many. He was the son of the late Robert and Ruby (Glendenning) Borland. He is also the brother of Ron Borland, Sue Emberley (Rod) and the late Rick Borland.
Family was at the heart of Ralph’s life. He cherished every moment spent with his beloved wife of 35 years, Brenda Borland, and his five children: Rob Borland, Jennifer Borland, Frank Pell (Tara), Karen Garbutt (Darrin), and Krystal Pell (Matt). He was a proud grandfather to thirteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, creating memories filled with laughter, love, and support. As a cousin to many, Ralph also fostered close relationships that enriched his life and the lives of his extended family. Ralph had a remarkable ability to turn every gathering into a celebration, bringing people together with his infectious joy and warmth.
In addition to his immediate family, Ralph cultivated a wide circle of friends who became like family. They could always count on him for an open ear, a comforting hug, or words of encouragement. Ralph's spirit will live on in the countless stories shared among those who knew and loved him.
A celebration of Ralph’s life will be held in Ontario later this year, where we invite all who knew and loved him to come together to share memories, laughter, and tears. Details will be shared by the family once a date has been set.
Please consider a donation to the Cancer Society, a cause that was dear to Ralph’s heart.
Though Ralph may no longer walk among us, his spirit will forever remain in our hearts. Rest in peace, dear Ralph. Your legacy of love will continue to shine brightly in our lives.
