Big River – It is with great sadness that we the family, announce the passing of Eldon Legacy, husband of Louisa (Gagnon) Legacy, of Big River, which occurred at the Chaleur Regional Hospital in Bathurst on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at the age of 85.

Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late George Legacy and Imelda Godin.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his three children:

Donald Legacy (Lesa) of Nepisiguit Falls,

Julia Legacy-Searle (Dan) of Rusagonis, NB, and

Stephanie Legacy-Jensen (late Dave) of Heisler, AB.

Three grandchildren: Kerri, Kayla, Jake and five great-grandchildren: Olivia, Blake, Blair, Noah, and Chase.

Two sisters: Marguerite Duguay and Patricia Hébert, both of Bathurst, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he is now resting with his siblings: Marie, Evangeline, Wilbert, John, and Irene.

There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Funeral service will be celebrated on Friday, November 29, 2024, at 11 am in Elhatton’s Funeral Chapel (www.elhatton.com) in Bathurst. In memory of Eldon, a donation to the Parkinson Society or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
