It is with great sadness that we, the family of Claudine Duguay announce her passing which occurred, at the Foyer Notre Dame-de-Lourdes in Bathurst on Sunday, December 8, 2024 at the age of 87, following a short illness.
Born in Allardville, she was the daughter of the late Sévère Duguay and Imelda (Larocque) Duguay.
Claudine was a teacher for most of her life, a profession she adored. She was very well liked by her students. She also loved to travel, a passion she passed onto her children. Claudine was a generous person who adored her family. She made friends everywhere she went, and she will missed by the many people who knew her.
She is survived by her children: Ginette Richard (late Gérard Richard) of Moncton and Simon Guignard (Yvonne Blanchard) of St-Simon.
Grandchildren: Isabelle, Rachelle (Job), Jessica (Jason), Justin and Mia and great-grandchildren: Mia, Damien, Paxton, Alex, Bella, Caleb and Daphnée.
Brothers: Jaddus Duguay (Viola) of Moncton, Léon-Gilles Duguay (Raymonde) of Allardville and Denis Duguay of Bathurst.
Daughter-in-law, Lise Guignard as well as many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and one Goddaughter.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a son, Normand (at birth), four brothers and one sister in infancy as well as the father of her children Louis Guignard.
In accordance with her wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A celebration of life will be held for family and friends at a later date.
