It is with sadness that we, the family and friends, announce the peaceful passing of Josephine “Finn” (Chiasson) Lavigne, which occurred at the Chaleur Regional Hospital on Monday, January 6, 2025, with her close friend Jeannine and her niece Joan by her side. She was 94.

Born in Bathurst, she was the daughter of the late Adelard and Josephine (Doiron) Chiasson.

She was the last surviving member of her family, she was pre-deceased by her husband Gerald and son Ronald, her sisters Dorina Roussel (Omer), Roseann Curwin (Harold) and Yvonne (Mack) Roberge.

She is survived by many nieces and nephews.

Finn was an active member of CWL. She was past president of Little Flower council CWL where she received her service pin. She went on to be a member of Sacred Heart Council CWL with membership of over 60 years. She had been an active member of Sacred Heart Senior Choir.

She was a devoted worker at WJ Kent, for over forty years. She loved working there and the staff. She had great memories and enjoyed sharing them often.

She was an excellent baker, whenever you would go over to visit you would be leaving with a plate of goodies.

A special thank you to Lillian Drapeau and the staff at Southern Comfort Villa for all the wonderful care given to Finn while in their care. Also, a very special thank you to Jeannine and Stephen White who were always there for her. As well as her niece Joan, friend Marilyn, Mary Anne. She will also be dearly missed by her lifelong friend Joan Blanchard.

There will be no visitation. A Funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, January 14th, 2025, at 2p.m. from Sacred Heart Cathedral, Bathurst.
