It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Julien Roy, who passed away peacefully on January 17, 2025, at the age of 81. A generous, dedicated, and active man to the very end, Julien touched the hearts of all who crossed his path.
He is survived by his loving companion Denise Pitre of almost 10 years, her daughters Sonia (Éric) and Lise-Andrée (Mathieu), and their families.
He also leaves his three beloved children, Opale, Chantale (John Devona) and Christian (Jenna Hartviksen).
Julien will be deeply missed by his brothers and sisters, Julienne Roy, Josée Kovacs, Rose-Marie Roy, Yves (Louise), Noëlla Roy (Abel), Jean-Guy (Diane), Gilberte Roy-Allain (Jean), Anne (Régis) and Carmelle Roy Cormier (Jean-Maurice), as well as his sister-in-law Monique.
He will also be missed by his brothers-in-law, Edmond, Guy, Roland, and Roma LeBouthillier, as well as Liette and Joël, and many nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and neighbours, who will cherish his memory forever.
Julien joins those who have gone before him, his father Ernest, his mother Elmire, his sister Yvonne Godin, his brothers Yvon and Sylvio, and his beloved wife of 45 years, Rollande Roy.
The family will receive relatives and friends after 2 p.m. on Thursday, January 23rd, at Elhatton’s Funeral Home. A tribute to his life will be held on January 23, at 4 p.m., at Notre-Dame-du-Rosaire Church in Bathurst.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to his family doctor, Marc-André Doucet, as well as the medical staff of Chaleur Regional Hospital and George L. Dumont Hospital, for their devoted care and attention.
To honour Julien's memory, the family welcomes donations to the Bathurst Volunteer Centre.
