Bathurst - Mrs. Rita Rankin, wife of the late William Sergeant, formerly of West Bathurst, passed away on Sunday (June 25, 2006), at the Foyer Notre Dame de Lourdes, Bathurst. Born in Bathurst, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Melvina (David) Godin. She was pre-deceased by her husband, William Sergeant, in 1978. She is survived by: Four sons: Gordon Sergeant (Evelyn), Nelson Sergeant and Dennis Sergeant (Tina), all of Bathurst John Sergeant (Cathy) of B.C. Two daughters: Ada Comeau of Cranbrook, BC Connie Nadeau of Montreal, Que. Two brothers: Hector Godin (Yvonne) of South Tetagouche, NB Cléo Godin (Rosella) of Dunlop, NB Three sisters: Thérèse Bertin of Beresford, NB Geraldine Pratt of Dunlop, NB Jeannette Roy (Alphonse) of Saint John, NB 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, several nephews. There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday afternoon (June 28, 2006) at 2:00 p.m. from Holy Family Church, Bathurst.
