Bathurst - Howard Pettigrew, 86, formerly of Rough Waters Dr., Bathurst, passed away on Saturday (July 29, 2006) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, after a brief illness.
Born in New Mills, NB, he was the son of the late John and Bertha (Doull) Pettigrew.
He served in World War II with the Royal Canadian Army in Canada and overseas and was a Life Time Member of the Herman J. Good, V.C. Br. 18, Royal Canadian Legion, Bathurst. He worked as a mechanic for Lounsbury's and later at the former Consolidated Bathurst Paper Mill.

He was pre-deceased by 3 brothers; Russell, Gordon and Harvey.
The body will rest after 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. Funeral Service will be held on Monday (July 31, 2006) at 2:00 p.m. from the First United Church, St. Patrick St., Bathurst. Burial will be in the Highland View Cemetery, Bridge St. Visiting hours are Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. A Legion service will be held from the Funeral Home on Sunday afternoon at 3:00 p.m.
