It is with great sadness that the family announce the passing of Mrs. Frances Smith, 87, wife of the late Hazen Smith, of Riverside Dr., Bathurst, passed away on Sunday (December 17, 2006), at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst. Born in Tabinsintac, she was the daughter of the late Earnest and Margaret Davidson. She loved being at home looking after her garden and flowers and many people enjoyed her home cooked meals. She was pre-deceased by her husband of over 50 years, Hazen, in 1997. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by: Two sons: Donald Smith (Joan) and Gary Smith (Sharon) both of Bathurst Two daughters: Nancy of Timberlea, NS Joan Morton (Gary) of Sault Ste Marie, ON Her greatest joy were her grandchildren: Jill (Steve), Lynn (Clem), Todd (Tracey), Kim, Andrew, Jordan and Kayla, and great-grandchildren; Jacob, Breanna, Cameron and Benjamin, several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by brothers; Lloyd, Howard, Walter, Earl, Roy, Max and sister Mabelle. There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday afternoon (December 19, 2006) at 2:00 p.m. from the First United Church, with Rev. Keith Adams officiating. Burial will be in the United Cemetery, South Tetagouche, in the spring. Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.
