Joseph Charles Pitre, 67, of Dunlop, N.B. passed away on Monday December 18, 2006 at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Bathurst, he was the son of late Philias and Clothilde (Mainville) Pitre.
He will be sadly be missed by his wife Rita (Mazerolle) Pitre.
Two sons:
André of Dunlop and
Daniel (Rayma) Pitre of Moncton.
One daughter:
Anne-Marie (Ralph) Ramkerrsingh of Ottawa, Ont.
One brother:
Roger (Melita) of Bathurst.
Seven sisters:
Simonne Boutilier (Lloyd) of Cumberland Bay, NB.
Jeannine Babin (Cletus) of Miramichi, NB.
Patricia Gallant (Oscar) of Dieppe, NB.
Lorraine Harrison (Lloyd) of Vancouver, BC.
Juliette Désprès (Frank) of Miramichi, NB.
Annette Boyd (Doug) of Trenton, ON.
Edna Theriault (Donald) of Bathurst.
One sister law: Marielle of Bathurst.
Five grandchildren, Jason, Christina, Charles Robert, Matthew and Mellisa.
Many nieces and nephews.
He was pre-deceased by a brother; Ernest.
Mr. Pitre served in the Canadian Armed Forces from
1957 to 1987 and was stationed at:
CFB Ottawa Ont.,
CFS Lamacaza, Qc,
CFB Chatham, NB,
CFB Bagotville, QC. and
Baden-Baden Germany, after retirement from the CAF.
He worked as a security guard for the RCMP in Bathurst, 1987-1988 and was a Sales Distributor for the Atlantic Lotto Corporation from 1989-1996.
He was a member of the Herman J. Good VC Br. 18 Royal Canadian Legion, Bathurst.
The body will rest at Elhatton Funeral Home St. George St. Bathurst after 2:00 p.m. Thursday
21 Dec.2006.
Funeral mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Cathedral St. Andrew St, Bathurst Friday afternoon (December 22, 2006) at 2:00 p.m.
Burial will be in parish cemetery later in the spring.
